Nina Beier: Parts at Kiasma (until Sep 8) features the Danish artist’s sculptures based on everyday objects – sinks, remote-controlled toy cars, vases, ornaments, plastic containers – which she finds online or in thrift stores and through which she mirrors the surrounding world, its power structures, the flow of matter and money and questions about authenticity. Transcending time and space from one culture or historical era to another, the objects turn the spotlight on the historical baggage that many everyday items carry with them.
